 2 – Position Description

In the role of ‘HR Administrator – International Employment‘, you play an important role in the daily implementation and support of the numerous international personnel matters. You ensure that individual personnel files are handled correctly, with an eye for timing and customer service.

Together with about fifteen immediate colleagues, you work half of your time in an open office, and the other half from home.
 
These are some of your duties:

  • You review international files for completeness and clarity regarding international employment aspects;
  • You advise employees and supervisors on new hires, renewals and changes;
  • You support the administrative processing and ensure the correct placement of dossiers in the workflow;
  • You initiate the Single Permit application in the various government platforms;
  • You support our customers with a timely, proactive and complete service.
  • You are the first point of contact for staff members and their promoters for all their questions regarding their employment;
  • You are the first point of contact for the authorities (Immigration, Brussels economy and migration, municipalities );
  • You will perform general tasks within the case management and international payroll teams.

For this position, Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Ixelles) will be your home base.

 3 – Profile

What do we expect from you?
  • You have at least a bachelor’s degree (social work specialization in human resources, legal practice,…);
  • You have excellent communication skills (both oral and written) in English and Dutch;
  • Customer focus is in your DNA. You are positive and driven to help your customers further.  You enjoy working with others;
  • Besides coming up with solutions, you are also someone who likes to learn;
  • You preferably have knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding international employment (Single Permit). Candidates without knowledge in this area but willing to further deepen their understanding are certainly encouraged to apply;
  • You can handle the common PC applications and you can quickly learn new computer programmes;
  • Working independently and setting priorities are not unfamiliar to you. You keep to agreements and deadlines and know how to keep a good overview of your various tasks;
  • You also like to work according to a system and follow procedures meticulously.

 4 – Offer

Then we offer you a contract of  indefinite duration with a gross monthly salary linked to grade 5 or grade 6, depending on your level of degree, competences and previous relevant work experience. Our salary scales can be found on our website under “Working at VUB”.
