The HR and Operations Assistant will play a multifaceted role crucial for maintaining a safe, healthy, and thriving school environment conducive to learning and growth.

This position encompasses three core aspects:

  • Supporting the HR and Operations managers (and other department heads).
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations for international schools.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of various school operations and events.

Administrative Support: The role involves supporting the various functions of the HR, Operations and other department heads to achieve their goals and deadlines. This will require administrative and research-based tasks necessitating a high level of ICT, collaboration, and communication skills.

Health and Safety Compliance: The role includes updating and implementing comprehensive policies and procedures tailored to the unique needs of the school environment. The candidate must possess an understanding of relevant regulations and standards, particularly within the education sector, and ensure that all staff and students are well-informed and trained on safety protocols and best practices. The applicant should foster a culture of safety, personal, and environmental responsibility at all times.

Operations and Event Support: This role entails supporting the strategic planning and seamless execution of various school operations and events throughout the academic year and holiday periods. From academic ceremonies to extracurricular activities, the candidate will coordinate with relevant teams to organize engaging and impactful events that enrich the student experience and foster a sense of community within the school. This involves careful planning, logistical coordination, and effective communication to ensure the success of each event while adhering to budgetary constraints and timelines.

Qualifications:

Candidates for this role should ideally possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or Business management or any other relevant Degree.
  • Relevant HR Qualifications
  • At least 2 years relevant work experience
  • Experience in event management, preferably in an educational or community-based setting.
  • Experience in Health and Safety related fields, and ideally safeguarding

Skills and Competencies: Alongside the skills mentioned earlier, the ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Creativity and innovation in event planning and execution.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills to juggle multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Diplomacy and tact in dealing with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and external vendors.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address challenges that may arise during events or in the realm of health and safety management.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all aspects of events and safety protocols are meticulously planned and executed.

Further training will be provided as required by the school setting.
