Background/IRC Summary:The International Rescue Committee, one of the world’s largest humanitarian agencies, provides relief, rehabilitation, and post-conflict reconstruction support to survivors of natural disasters, oppression and violent conflict in some 40 countries. IRCbegan workinginNigeriainOctober 2012 inresponse toawidespread flood disaster. Since then, IRC has expandeditsprogram scopeandsizewiththeaimingofmakingthegreatestpossiblecontributiontomeeting humanitarian needs in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states in North-East Nigeria. IRC’s response includes integrated health, reproductive health and nutrition services, protection including women’s protection and ei1Jpuwerment services and child protection, environmental health, economic recovery and development, governance, and education. In2015, IRCNigeria developed afive-year Strategy ActionPlan (SAP), which has health andeducationashighpriority program areas.

Job Overview/Summary:Under the coaching and supervision of HR Officer, the HRintern will providenecessary support toMaiduguri theHR team.

MajorResponsibilities:

HumanResources

  • AssistwithonboardingandorientationofnewhiresinMaidugurifieldoffice.
  • Documentationofnewhiresandfilemanagement
  • Supportwithtrackingofleave,timesheetandexitdocuments.
  • SupportwithScanningdocumentsandupdatingtheonline staffdatabase.
  • SupportwithFiling, labellingofallfiles accordinglyofhardcopiesofstaffdocuments.
  • SupportwithcompilationofHealthInsurance andLifeInsuranceDocumentsforMaiduguristaff

Administration

  • Support inthesupervisionofcooks and cleaners
  • Assistincoordinating booking andtracking oftravels and accommodationaswell &documentation of paymentdocuments.
  • Assistinfollowingupwithimmigrationandrelatedstatutoryagenciesforstaffworkingand traveling permit.

Qualifications

Education. –

  • B.SC/B.AorHNDinSocialsciences
  • WorkExperience:FreshgraduatewhohascompletedNYSCandis residinginMaiduguri.
  • DemonstratedSkillsandCompetencies’
  • Goodcomputer skills(Excelandword).
  • Excellentinterpersonal,organizationalandtimemanagementskills
  • Abilitytomaintain thehighestdegreeofdiscretionandconfidentiality. language Skills: Fluent written and spoken English.

WorkingEnvironment:TheHRandAdminInternpositionisbasedinMaiduguri. Thesecuritysituationin Northeast Nigeriacontinuesto bevolatilewithsecuritylevelcurrent(yat3(orange),thoughsubjectto change; candidatesshould be preparedto implementprogrammingin insecure environments.
