About this position

We are looking for a forward-thinking, outstanding leader who can drive the talent solutions strategy for the IDB Group. As the leader of the Talent Solutions team, you will orchestrate the development and implementation of initiatives to guide existing and future talent needs in direct support of our impact-driven business model.

 

You will work in the Talent Management Division, which is part of the Human Resources Department (HRD). HRD is responsible for the administration and development of the human capital of the IDB Group. The main functions of the department include running the entire employee lifecycle, leading all aspects of the implementation of the People Strategy, and implementing programs and methodologies in direct support of the IDB’s mission. HRD is also dedicated to delivering human-centered experiences and strategically partnering with professionals who are passionate about improving lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. What you’ll do:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of high-impact, cross-organizational talent solution programs through deep understanding of the current and future state of the IDB Group’s talent needs. This includes, but is not limited to, staff planning, forecasting, and tracking staffing requirements.
  • Acting as a technical point of contact, collaborate with HR Business Partners to develop methodologies to identify client needs, successfully translating strategic objectives, organizational priorities, and HR strategies into the design of HR solutions and recommendations.
  • Develop and set up mechanisms to improve succession planning and staff mobility.
  • Guide and articulate the delivery of group-wide Special Programs that are linked to continuous innovation, cross-collaboration, strategic external partnerships, inclusion of underrepresented groups and skills, as well as the promotion of the IDB Group among young talent from our member countries.
  • Advise on and present insights garnered through analysis, data-driven assessments, and market-based research in a way that supports the leadership of the IDB Group and HRD in their decision-making processes.

What you’ll need

  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressive professional experience in talent solutions, including demonstrable track record in crafting and implementing staff mobility programs, talent identification and development, succession planning, among other talent solutions approaches for multinational environments, and leading major transformation in the team/area.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to build and motivate high performing teams.
  1. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to quickly establish and maintain trust and credibility with all stakeholders, as well as navigate complex scenarios.
  2. Data-driven, with ability to bring innovative ideas to meet client’s needs.
  3. Strong business acumen and clear understanding of talent needs within the IDB Group.
  • A track record of being a collaborative team player who can work across the organization to support the goals of the business.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English, spoken and written, is required. Proficiency in another Bank language (Spanish, Portuguese or French) is highly desired.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab. 

Type of contract and duration

  • International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
