Organizational Setting

The Division of Human Resources (MTHR), within the Department of Management, plans, acquires and manages human resources to effectively implement the IAEA programmes. It thus delivers the full spectrum of human resource services, including HR organizational development and planning, talent acquisition and development, performance management, and administration of compensation and benefits. The Division serves a multicultural workforce of approximately 2300 people from diverse scientific, technical, managerial and professional disciplines.

Main Purpose

The HR Officer (Project Management) will play an integral role in overseeing delivery of HR project activity associated with major human resources and business change programmes to further enhance overall customer services and process efficiency. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources (DIR-MTHR) and working closely with functional leads inside and outside the HR division, the HR Officer is leading key projects and responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle.

Role

The HR Officer (Project Management) is: (1) a coordinator gathering contributions from functional heads and ensuring all related project activities are completed within the expected timeline and quality; (2) a leader seeking support and collaboration from project team members; and (3) a risk controller managing project risks including the development of contingency plans.

Functions / Key Results Expected

• Develop HR project plans to ensure key deliverables, milestones, stakeholders, resources and budget are identified and documented.
• Work with key stakeholders and project teams to ensure the delivery of key project-related deliverables/milestones on time and within budget, resource, and policy; ensure that projects are effectively implemented.
• Manage relationships with all third-party entities such as system integrators, contractors, or consultants, to achieve the desired project outcomes.
• Identify, and anticipate in a timely manner, potential risks and issues and advise on mitigating measures.
• Ensure effective communication to ensure stakeholders are aware of project activities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.
• Devises and manages a regular project reporting mechanism for the HR team and relevant business leaders.
• Perform any other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Remuneration

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $64121 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 38344, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks’ annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
