FTE: 1 FTE (working 37 hours per week)

Duration of Contract: Permanent 

Salary: UH7 £37,099pa to £40,521pa with potential to progress to £44,263 by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of the University between Christmas and New Year 

Location: Bishops Square, Hatfield

Our Human Resources Business Partnering team is highly valued for the quality of its HR advice and support. We’re excited to be introducing a dedicated post focusing on reward at a busy and exciting time for the University.

Leading on the delivery of a wide range of reward projects agreed with the HR Senior Management Team, you will use your expertise to provide solutions aligned with the strategic direction of the University. Typically, this will involve combining a range of different pay and benefits offerings which meet the needs of our different staff groups, providing specialist advice to senior management and supporting with the consultation and implementation of initiatives.

Main duties and responsibilities

As our University grows and evolves, our Senior Managers will turn to you for direction and expert advice in attracting, retaining, and rewarding talent at all levels in the university, using analytics to interpret and communicate insights regarding workforce market trends. You will need to stay up to date with current developments in employment legislation, case law and codes of practice in the UK, and use this information to inform reward strategies and best practice. We’ll also need you to work closely with our HR Business Partners and our new Workforce Planning and Change Manager to support our policy development, implementing initiatives and consulting with our Trade Unions as needed.  

Skills and experience required

You will have strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and will be experienced in providing advice to managers at all levels. The postholder will have good presentation skills with the ability to convey sometimes complex information in a way that is understood and helpful to a variety of audiences. We’re looking for someone who can build and maintain excellent working relationships, with the ability to influence and negotiate. You will be methodical with close attention to detail and be able to work independently where needed whilst contributing to the team and demonstrating consistency.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of a degree or equivalent qualification or substantial proven work experience. You will also have a CIPD qualification and CIPD membership.
