Work Schedule | 6:30 am – 3:00 pm; Monday – Friday This position is designated as ‘mandatory’ and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions. |
Primary Purpose of Position | The Grounds Crew Lead ensures that crew members work safely, comply with safety, departmental, and University policies while continually performing work in a productive and efficient manner. Provides and trains crew members in new/proper landscape techniques/procedures to ensure the health of the plants, as well as, the environment. Oversees, assigns and performs work with a crew of grounds workers and/or general utility workers in landscape/turf maintenance. |
Minimum Education/Experience | Required Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, and five years of experience in the area assigned; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. University Preferred Qualifications: Advanced: Graduation from high school and five years experience in the area of work assigned, three of which were in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
