This position will be hybrid requiring a few days per week in office. You will be based in the WRI office in London. Existing work authorization in the UK is required at the time of application submission. WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

This will be a 1-year contract with the possibility of renewal.

The Global HR team is responsible for enacting the support for this shift through our processes and policies.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you will be an integral member of the Employee Relations team and will help implementation of WRI’s new Safe, Equitable and Inclusive Workplace policy. WRI is seeking to fill this position located either in The Hague or in London. You will have flexible work hours to serve an international employee population.

What you will do:

  • Promote treatment of employees in a fair, respectful, and consistent manner that works within the framework of WRI’s core organizational values
  • Promptly conduct impartial investigations in response to complaints and allegations of wrongdoing
  • Prepare written investigative reports
  • Work with the Head of Employee Relations to track and maintain the flow of investigations from intake to the final disposition phase
  • Implement the Resolution Team’s decisions, including conducting any necessary long-term follow-up
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of internal governance requirements, compliance and reporting responsibilities, and related legal benchmarks from federal and state law
  • Ensure records are maintained and all data stored in HR systems is accurate and meet record keeping requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality at all stages of the investigation and post-investigation
  • Foster effective relationships with team members and team leaders throughout the organization to promote positive employee relations and a high level of employee satisfaction and engagement

What you will need:

  • Education: You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, communications, sociology, psychology, business administration, public administration, or related field
  • Experience: You have minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in employee relations/complaint investigations (or related experience)
  • International non-profit experience preferred
  • Ability to conduct all aspects of complex workplace investigations
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of country-specific employment laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g. DOL, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, etc.) required for those who are managing ER cases in the US
  • Strong skills in conducting investigatory interviews
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and dissect complex issues
  • Strong written communication skills to write clear and logical reports, correspondence, and summaries
  • Strong oral communication skills to convey and explain information to all levels of employees and management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen well, demonstrate sensitivity to all parties, and facilitate resolutions with a culturally diverse population
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Languages: Proficiency in verbal and written English
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required at the time of application. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

Potential Salary:

£44,000 – £53,000

Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
