BACKGROUND
Windle International – Somalia is member of Windle International family, a Humanitarian Non-Governmental organization. Windle was founded in 1977 with the belief that good education was essential if Africa was to meet the challenges it faced.Windle is determined to take all necessary steps to manage, minimize and protect children from any deliberate or unintended actions that place them at risk of child abuse, sexual exploitation, injury, discrimination, and any other harm. Windle International Somalia is seeking a suitable candidate to fill one position of a Human Resource Assistant (HRA) based in Mogadishu.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The position will support and administer the functions of the Human resource department. With the overall guidance and direction of the Human Resource Officer or designate, the staff will administer the day-to-day activities of the department including the management of organization personnel, ensuring the organization policies are adhered with respective to humanitarian principles and core standard.
III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Involve in the recruitment process for Windle staff, draft vacancy, shortlist of applications, arrangement of interviews, reference checks, and participate as a panel member for the interview.
- Keep track of all active staff in employment, maintain and initiate Personnel Administration changes for staff who are entitled to change in contract types in accordance with the organization Regulations.
- Maintain and update all attendances, overtime/compensatory leave, and sick/annual leave records of all staff in Somalia and give reports to supervisors as and when required.
- Create and maintain personnel files and HR files, ensuring all documentation is complete and relevant documents are kept in their respective files.
- Ensure that each staff timesheets and attendance records are updated and maintain the attendance data as well as reconcile it with payrolls.
- Manage staff payroll and ensure the organization is compliant with government due diligences.
- Preparation of Staff ID cards and Coordinate management of all ID cards.
- Follow up with other Head of units on contract renewals of staff.
- Perform such other duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resource from recognized institution.
- University with at least 3 years of experience.
- Experience in the Labour Laws, policy formulation, administration, child protection and other HR functions.
- Membership to the HR Professional body is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold a high level of confidentiality.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and counselling skills.
- Ability to travel and work in unstable and frequently changing security environments.
- Mastery of office software (MS Word, Excel, and Power Point) and HRIS.
