The Human Resource Division is responsible for the timely, accurate, equitable, effective and efficient delivery of all human resources management services, i.e. strategic staff planning, recruitment, staff administration, organizational and design and learning/career development, for the continuous development and improvement in human resource operations, policies, and methods to align with UN Women evolving business needs, and for providing advisory support to the Executive Director in the formulation and implementation of UN Women’s overall mission, strategy and plans of actions.
As Human Resources Analyst you support the Human Resources Division by providing the following:
- Support development and implementation of staffing policies and procedures
- Improve recruitment and staffing processes, including digital tools optimization
- Assist in planning and rolling out strategic HR initiatives
- Prepare reports, presentations, and coordinate internal HR communications
- Ensure alignment of HR initiatives with policies and support staff engagement
- Etc.
Part of the Swiss JPO Programme, this position is sponsored by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC of the FDFA.

Skills required
For the Swiss JPO programme:
- Swiss nationality
- Not older than 32 years at the date of the first round of interviews
- Fluency in English and a second UN language
- Master’s degree
- Strong interest in a longer-term career with the United Nations
For this position:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Administration or other relevant social sciences;
- 3 years of professional experience in human resources management is required. (UN Women counts relevant experience gained after completion of first university-degree. Relevant paid internship experience is counted at 50%.)
- Desirable experience includes:
- Job design and classification
- Working in an international context
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and modern web-based ERP systems
- Recruitment and selection within the UN Common System;
- Knowledge of UN system recruitment and selection policies and procedures are desirable.
