How can you make a difference?

Under the close supervision and guidance of the HR Officer, the HR Assistant supports the respective section by carrying out specialized activities pertaining to recruitment and placement, onboarding and offboarding process, administration of entitlements, staff development and career development, and/or performance management.

Minimum requirements:

  • Education:  Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.
  • Work Experience:  A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience is required.  For this position two years of experience may be substituted for candidates holding a bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English are required.

Desirables:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Psychology or Business Administration is an asset.
  • Experience in human resources including life-cycle recruitment, onboarding and/or offboarding is an asset.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) or a local language is an asset.

Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.

The position is a temporary, expected to last 364 days. Exceptionally, it may be extended for an additional 364 days, summing 729 days as the maximum possible duration of this appointment.
