UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary provides services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Business Transformation Innovation and Solutions.

UNICEF GSSC is seeking enthusiastic and talented candidates to support the HR Administration Section as Human Resources Assistants in Budapest, Hungary. You will have the opportunity to support UNICEF staff members worldwide by performing a wide range of activities related to offboarding. We are using complex enterprise systems and working in a dynamic environment. You will have the chance to contribute to the development of HR procedures, share knowledge and identify areas for continuous improvements.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:
1. Monitor UNICEF staff personnel records.
• Perform necessary administrative actions on contractual status, entitlements, Mobility and Hardship Allowances, etc.
• Maintain staff entitlements and profiles in SAP-HR.
• Draft correspondence to follow up on staff contractual status and request recommendations.
2. Maintain computerized reporting system for Human Resources Processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate execution of administrative actions.
• Update reporting system with status changes (e.g. contractual status, marriage status).
3. Responsible for understanding changes in policy procedures.
• Review policy and participation in GSSC staff meetings.
• Ensure appropriate action are taken in accordance with policy changes.
4. Prepare and initiate major Human Resources documents.
• Create employment verification letters and issue ground passes.
• Complete background work for Disability and Worker’s Compensation claims for submission to appropriate departments.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is required.
  • For candidates without university degree, five years progressively responsible Human Resources working experience is required.
  • For candidates with university degree, a BA degree is counted towards 3 years of professional experience, while an MA degree is counted towards additional 2 years of professional experience.
  • Previous hands-on experience in planning, organizing and delivering administrative support services is required.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint) is required.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish is an advantage.
