Human Resources Assistants and Associates in RAS provide administrative, procedural and operational support to the efficient implementation of recruitment services for all categories of staff globally, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of services in compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations.
Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks for HR Assistants (GS5):
- Focal point for candidates in the various stages of the recruitment process
- Responsible for service delivery to designated client groups within the expected SLAs with accuracy and high-quality standards
- Liaises with HR Business Partners and Hiring Managers along the recruitment process
- Prepares vacancy announcements in UNICEF’s Talent Management System, circulates internal and external advertisements
- Performs longlisting and pre-screening of candidates against minimum criteria and eligibility
- Arranges and organizes online assessments
- Coordinates interview arrangements
- Assigns status, adds comments to all reviewed candidates
- Informs unsuccessful candidates by sending timely system notifications
- Liaises with GSSC HR Administration Onboarding as necessary
- Maintains talent pools
- Monitors life cycle of recruitment process
- Keeps abreast of recruitment related policies and procedures
- Communicates and escalates non-compliance
Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks for HR Associates (GS6) in addition to above:
- Makes input into the design and development of improved services and delivery processes and is expected to work independently
- Conducts quality checks of longlists
- Takes part in emergency and batch hiring
- Supports recruitment performance reporting
- Reviews of exception and special recruitment requests
- Performs ad hoc responsibilities and supports projects as requested by the section

To qualify as an advocate for every child, you will have…
Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is required.
- For candidates without university degree, five years progressively responsible Human Resources working experience with at least one year of dedicated recruitment work for GS5 level, and six years progressively responsible Human Resources working experience with two years of dedicated recruitment work for GS6 level is required.
- For candidates with university degree, a BA degree is counted towards 3 years of professional experience, while an MA degree is counted towards additional 2 years of professional experience.
- Excellent time management skills, attention to details and ability to plan and prioritize.
- Customer-oriented with strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Work experience in shared service centre context is an asset.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
- Experience in working in enterprise resource planning system, especially in SAP.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
- Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish), particularly French and Spanish, is an asset.
