About this opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to provide leadership and expertise across the full HR function, providing both strategic and operational advice and support to staff at all levels.
This role will have managerial responsibility of the HR team which comprises of a Human Resources Advisor and Human Resources Coordinator.
Prior experience in the NFP or AOD space will be highly advantageous!

Duties include but are not limited to…
- Partnering with the organisation to deliver HR programs and initiatives that align with organisational needs and outcomes and to enhance service delivery outcomes.
- Advising the Executive and Managers on people management related issues and options, including performance management, remuneration and employment conditions.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance on high-level industrial matters including management of underperformance, misconduct, union matters, and other grievances, including support with writing disciplinary letters.
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Overseeing the preparation of contracts of employment for all employees and OHV’s recruitment and induction processes
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing HR policies, procedures, and practices, and the identification of enhancements or new policies and procedures.
- Providing leadership and professional development opportunities to the HR team, flexibly responding to staff needs, and giving and receiving support and constructive feedback
- Providing advice to the Workforce Development Manager to ensure that capability requirements within the organisation are met through ongoing workforce, career and succession planning, recruitment and talent management. This includes supporting appropriate training and development activities, in line with program and organisational requirements, individual development plans and relevant guidelines.
- Providing oversight and advice on Work Health and Safety Related matters.

Key Selection Criteria:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate HR professional to partner with the organisation to deliver people management solutions that enhance service delivery outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following:
- Degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline, with 8-10 + years relevant experience.
- Extensive experience working in a generalist HR role in a medium sized organisation of 200+ employees.
- A working understanding of the Employment Relations Framework and Industrial Awards.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision in a fast paced, changing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing organisational policies and position descriptions.
- Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and partner with others to implement effective and timely solutions to workplace problems.
- Proactive with demonstrated ability to use own initiative and work autonomously.
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict in the workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, design, implement and review policies and related practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft documentation and correspondence.
- Strong organisation and planning skills.
- Ability to coordinate workplace health and safety practices.
- Attention to detail with strong work ethic.
- Diplomacy, business acumen and highly customer focused, with ability to maintain confidentiality and balance multiple perspectives.
