The Shared Services Centre (SSC) recommends and administers process management and procedures that need to be executed effectively; ensures the management of quality assurance activities associated with the transactional processes and implementation of service delivery; continuously improves the satisfaction of its customers, internal or external, while pursuing a continuous improvement agenda that will drive up service excellence while driving down the costs of service delivery through process standardization, process automation and self-service capabilities.
This position is located in the FAO Shared Services Centre and based in Budapest, Hungary.
Reporting Lines:
The Human Resources Officer reports to the Senior Human Resources Officer under the functional guidance of the Director of the Human Resources Division in headquarters.
Technical Focus:
Human Resources servicing.
Key Results
The delivery of the full range of HR Services to staff members and/or international affiliate workforce (NSHR) within designated FAO service areas.
Key Functions:
- Supervises and coaches a team of HR personnel for the timely provision of the full range of Human Resources services to staff and/or international affiliate workforce (NSHR) within designated service areas.
- Monitors performance against established indicators and Service Level Agreements and takes action in consultation with the Unit Head as necessary.
- Provides guidance to staff in the processing of HR service requests; reviews unusual or difficult cases, interprets FAO rules, regulations, policies and procedures and makes determinations within delegated authority.
- Responds to requests from managers employees and HR focal points worldwide provides information, options or solutions to resolve specific problems or issues.
- Undertakes special studies or reviews, collects and analyses data, information and feedback from service delivery to suggest innovations that improve process efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
- Identifies the need to modify HR servicing policies, procedures and tools and provides input into new approaches, systems and procedures to maintain and/or improve service delivery.
- Promotes continuous learning and capacity development.
- Participates in inter-agency meetings focusing on HR service issues and best practices as applicable.
- Prepares various reports.
- Performs other duties as required.
Specific Functions:
- Supports the implementation of HR-related projects in collaboration with other SSC units and FAO one HR community.
- Develops and implements learning and capacity development activities focusing on HR administrative processes and targeting administrative personnel in FAO Divisions/Offices/Centres, as well as users of HR-Services globally.
Candidates Will Be Assessed Against The Following:
Minimum Requirements
- Advanced university degree in human resources management, public or business administration or a related field.
- Five years of relevant experience in human resources management or administration including experience in staff servicing.
- Working knowledge (proficient – level C) of English and limited knowledge (intermediate – level B) of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
