ID. Know Yourself is an Aboriginal led non-for-profit that was founded by Isaiah Dawe in 2019 who has had firsthand experience growing up in the foster system.
The aim is to fill the gaps for our young people aged 7-16 years old by providing love, consistency and holistic support that gives young people living in out of home care the chance to establish belonging, purpose and empowerment.
Our program delivers group sessions and mentoring support to Aboriginal children aged 7-16 years old who have been impacted by cultural dispossession, systematic disadvantage, and complex trauma.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a part-time Human Resources / WHS Coordinator to support the end-to-end employee lifecycle of IDKY team members. This is a hybrid role, working 4 days per week (30 hours total) – Monday to Wednesday in the office, and Thursday working from home.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: preparation of HR documentation, supporting team members and Managers with professional HR advice, interpretation of the relevant industry Awards and Legislations, developing and maintaining policies, coordinating recruitment and induction, maintaining HR records and managing WH&S requirements and documentation.

This role will work mostly autonomously, liaising from time to time with external HR advisors and reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer on all HR and WH&S matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of HR documentation (e.g. offer letters, contracts of employment, certificate of service letters)
- Coordinating recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes
- Contributing to developing, maintaining and implementing policies for IDKY employees
- Maintaining accurate filing systems for all HR records generated
- Ensure policies and procedures are implemented as per the WHS measurements and procedures of IDKY
- Investigate workplace hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Ensure all workplace accidents (incl “near misses”) and hazards are appropriately documented, and immediate action is implemented for identified hazards
- Work together with Payroll / Accounts and oversee timesheet(s) approval
- Assume the position of RTW Coordinator, overseeing all matters relating to staff returning to work post illness/injuries
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of three years’ experience in an HR-Generalist role or similar
- A bachelor’s degree, post-graduate certificate or diploma in Human Resources or a related field
- Exceptional administration, time management and organisational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of confidentiality, including diligence with handling personal data
- Proficiency in the application of Microsoft Office products
