Seeking a Humanities Teacher in Southampton, Hampshire!Humanities Teacher
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Pay Rate: £30,000 – £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

With a focus on professional development, the school ensures that teachers have the tools and training they need to succeed.About the RoleAs a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons in subjects such as History, Geography, and Social Studies. You will work closely with other staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment, helping students to develop both academically and personally.Key Responsibilities of Humanities Teacher

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and engage students in learning.
• Teach Humanities lessons to students aged 11-16.
• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and support they need to succeed.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure that each student is progressing towards their goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
• Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.
• Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to parents, support staff, and other relevant parties.

Requirements of Humanities Teacher

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Prior experience in teaching Humanities subjects is essential.
• Excellent communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
• Show a deep commitment to helping students succeed, exhibiting patience and empathy in interactions.
• Relevant qualifications or training in Humanities education (desirable but not essential).

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
