Position Title: Hunt Hill Nature Center – Summer Environmental Educator
Position Service Site: Hunt Hill Nature Center (Sarona, WI)
Service Time: May 27 – August 10, 2025 (450 hours total, 40-45 Hours/Week)
Benefits: Living stipend total for the whole term = $6,000 ($500 per week) in addition to an Education Award of approximately $1,900 upon successful completion of service. OVERVIEW: Hunt Hill is a nature preserve and learning center that is open to all and dedicated to fostering understanding, appreciation, and protection of the environment. Our facility boasts some of Wisconsin’s most beautiful and unique habitats– bogs, old-growth forests, meadows, and four glacial lakes. In addition to our beautiful natural surroundings, we offer a variety of programs for visitors of all ages.
SERVICE DESCRIPTION: Environmental Educators will work with the Program Coordinator to implement effective and interactive environmental education programs for youth at our facility. Environmental educators can expect a fun, welcoming work atmosphere that provides invaluable job experience.
Members will be trained in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, AED, Lifeguarding, Blood-Borne Pathogens, Anaphylaxis, and Epinephrine Auto-Injector training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
HOUSING: Members should be prepared to live in communal housing with other members of the program/organization/agency. Members should expect to have roommates, and must inform staff of any housing
preferences or required accommodations.
