This role is site based, and you will be initially working mid-long term in Scotland in Fort Augustus and Inverness with our client Scottish & Southern Electricity (SSE). This opportunity is a site-based position, we have works issued under various frameworks supporting various clients which means the position is UK wide. You will need to be flexible in your work location as you will be away from home for periods of time and will travel and work across the UK. This role is perfect for someone looking for a sideways move as an established Construction Manager and we would welcome applications from highly experienced senior site engineers seeking a first appointment Construction Manager role. This role is site based, and you will be initially working in Scotland possibly until 2029 supporting our client SSEN; however, thereafter you will need to be flexible in your work location across the UK as Transmission & Distribution Ltd have works under various cabling frameworks.Supporting the project manager, you will supervise and deliver key packages of cabling construction projects. You will assist in the production of construction plans and coordinate the engineering support team. You will also be responsible for the procurement of construction materials and specialist subcontracts for the successful delivery of projects. You will have substantial experience of managing sites and field-based staff on HV cable or substation projects and underground cabling works. Technical expertise of the civil, cable and/or electrical aspects of HV cabling projects is key. Experience in cable installation and associated activities i.e., jointing and testing requirements is essential as is previous working knowledge of distribution network operators.Individuals who can demonstrate their interest in developing their skillset in underground cables and who are enthusiastic about progressing their career within the Transmission and Distribution sector are encouraged to apply.
