PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION |
The International Association of Institutes of Public Health (IANPHI) is a network of directors of national public health institutes (NPHIs) (www.ianphi.org) which currently counts with 123 members, covers 103 countries and is structured into four regional networks (Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America). Its mission is to strengthen global public health capacities by connecting national public health institutes across the world to build global capacities and to create a fairer world. IANPHI is an inclusive and independent professional association, which promotes an evidence-based approach to public health and strives for scientific excellence.
Since 2016, the IANPHI Secretariat has been hosted in Paris by Santé publique France, the French Agency of Public Health. The Secretariat plays a central role in the organization of the Association and the animation of activities under the guidance of the President, the Secretary General, and the Executive Board of Directors. IANPHI has an office in the United States, based at Emory University, Atlanta. The Association is an international non-profit association under Belgian law. The IANPHI Secretariat team is composed of 4 staff members and one intern.
JOB DESCRIPTION |
Mission: The Project Coordinator oversees the implementation of the Action Plan and contributes to the various activities of the IANPHI Secretariat as specified below.
Activities related to the strategic planning and the implementation of the Action Plan (85%)
– Thematic Committees
- Support the Chairs of Thematic Committees in the implementation of their workplans
- Contribute to the standardization and implementation of (new) processes.
- Coordinate with the 5 Thematic Committees and provide relevant support when needed.
- Draft meeting reports and regular reporting.
– Regional Network
- Support the Chair and Vice-Chair in drafting the Regional Network’s annual Workplan and in implementing and monitoring the activities provided for.
- Support the functional activities for the development of the Regional Network: prospection of new members, communications with Members, organization of online meetings, minutes and reports writing.
- Follow-up and coordinate the Association’s external partnerships in the region.
- Conduct specific projects and address requests.
– External partnerships
- Develop and implement new partnerships or revitalize existing partnerships and as commonly agreed.
– Focal Point Network
- Support the Co-Chairs of the Focal Point Network in the implementation of their workplans.
- Contribute to the standardization and implementation of (new) processes.
- Coordinate the Focal Point Network and provide relevant support when needed
- Draft meeting reports and ensure regular reporting.
– Steering the implementation of the Action Plan 2022-2023 initiatives and strategic objectives related to the 2021-2025 Strategy
- Monitor progress of the implementation of the Action Plan through the production of annual reports.
- Provide coordination and support for related activities, internal management, financial reporting and aligning activities with the Action Plan’s strategic objectives.
Activities related to the development of the Association and its Secretariat (15%)
– Sponsorship and fundraising
- Work in close collaboration with IANPHI Director of Collaborative Surveillance, Workforce and Health Emergencies for the implementation of the Action Plan on their work.
- Contribute to and/or lead relevant projects and fundraising activities.
- Follow up on the budgetary management of the different projects in relation to the budget of the Association.
– Communications
- Contribute to the communication related to the relevant areas of work outlined in this document.
- Supervise the organization of IANPHI webinars.
– Fully functional Secretariat
- Contribute to the development and update of IANPHI processes and documents.
- Contribute to the proper management of the various requests received by the Secretariat, receiving, sorting, redirecting and / or responding to requests and ensuring their follow-up.
– Annual Meeting
- Contribute to the organization and communication of the annual meeting and related deliverables.
PROFILE |
Education level: Bac +5 (Master’s degree)
Effective experience of minimum two years in project management / strategic planning is required. Experience in the fields of public health / international affairs, within an international organization, association or institution, is desirable.
Knowledge
- Excellent writing and communication skills in French and in English are required.
- Fluency in another language is an advantage.
- Knowledge of international organizations and European institutions working in the field of public health.
Functional skills
- Experience in project management – planning, methodology

- Know how in writing administrative documents (letters, call for applications)
- Know how in writing documents for internal use (notes, report)

Salaire
A work permit in France is required.
Open-ended contract, taking office as soon as possible (from September 2024). 166 hours per month, 38,3 hours per week.
Range of monthly salary according to years of experience: From 2 to 5 years of experience, net salary
prior income tax from approx. 2 470 EUR to 2 700 EUR.
Leave entitlement per year: 25 days of paid leave + 20 days “RTT” (worked hours beyond the 35th hour give rise to a fixed allocation of RTT).
Remote working: 3 days per week maximum. 2 days per week at the Secretariat Office in Saint-Maurice.
Meal tickets: 9,48 EUR (60% covered by the employer) per working-remotely day.
