Research Investigator (Internal#46/2025)

This position will be hired for the Laboratory of Environmental Health under Health Systems and Population Studies Division and the laboratory is currently focusing research to collaboratively develop a health risk impact framework to support WASH decision making and provision in humanitarian camps. Various approaches will be used for the enteric pathogen surveillance within the refugee population. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Environmental Microbiology, along with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Duties and responsibilities

The position holder will report to the Principal Investigator and will be responsible for:

Generate new research ideas and develop research proposal/protocol and overall strategy to implement the research studies/projects;
Prepare project reports and scientific papers; Disseminate study findings;
Coordinate collaborative projects, coordinate quantitative surveys, and train research/field assistants;
Perform Conventional PCR, Real-time PCR, QuantStudio 12K Flex qPCR, GC-MS/MS
Development of research protocol for IRB approval.

Required qualification and experience:

Masters with Honors in Genetic Engineering/Biotechnology with good academic records.
Five years’ working experiences in relevant field. Candidates must have experience in preparation of research proposal and scientific manuscript in the field of Environmental Microbiology and development of research protocol for IRB approval.

Contract Type and duration:

CSA basis for six months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

Tk/- 1,34,048 per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
