Scope of Work:

The Intensive Case Management Supervisor oversees the daily coordination of Intensive Case Management (ICM) services in the Silver Spring office. The role involves implementing programming and supervising staff engaged in direct client services to ensure program goals are achieved. Additionally, the ICM Supervisor is responsible for receiving referrals and coordinating services for vulnerable clients across internal departments as well as with external partners. The ICM Supervisor provides guidance on comprehensive client-centered culturally sensitive care, ensures quality assurance, acts as a client advocate, and develops community partnerships to enhance social service resources accessible to clients.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the ICM team and provision of program services by facilitating team meetings, providing individual supervision, and assisting staff in addressing challenges.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee team members in accordance with IRC’s People Manager Standards.
  • Maintain close communication with other resettlement staff regarding complex cases, conduct case review meetings, and facilitate administrative meetings as necessary.
  • Implement timely interventions to ensure responsive, appropriate, and client-centered service delivery.
  • Ensure program compliance with funder and agency requirements for documentation, case files, data tracking, and administrative tasks.
  • Coordinate internal and external referrals, distribute caseloads, and collaborate with the broader IRC office to ensure a holistic approach to supporting individuals toward initial self-sufficiency and overall well-being.
  • Assist the program manager in gathering data for report writing, strategic planning, and program design.
  • Act as the primary contact point for community partners, fostering and maintaining partnerships for client referrals and collaboration of services.
  • Compile and maintain a resource guide of support services and resources for populations served.
  • Conduct file reviews to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Monitor program execution to ensure adherence to funding requirements and communicate program needs to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in social work, public health, or a related field of study. A master’s degree in social work, human services, or related field of study is preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of related professional experience in human services field preferred.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred; experience managing supervisors strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent program and staff management skills: experience developing, leading, implementing, and monitoring projects or programs in nonprofit or community-based organizations. Strong ability to coach staff, take initiative and implement pilot projects required. Experience managing supervisors is strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized self-starter with demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities and delivering quantifiable results under pressure, with tight deadlines, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven negotiation, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills, especially in a multi-cultural environment. Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
  • Must be mission and outcome driven, high level of energy, self-confidence, and commitment to client success.
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web-based databases and applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English. Bilingual ability in one of the predominant languages of the local client base preferred.
  • Strong writing skills and/or proposal development experience a plus.

Working Environment:

  • A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
