Implemented by ICMPD and funded by the European Commission (DG HOME), the Return and Reintegration Facility (RRF) supports European Member States (MS) and Schengen Associated Countries to increase the effectiveness of their return and reintegration programming.

The RRF provides operational and financial support to MS to facilitate the development of solutions and activities with an EU-added value in the area of return and reintegration, whilst bridging gaps between existing initiatives. In parallel, the RRF supports the implementation of the EU Strategy on Voluntary Return and Reintegration. The RRF Team is composed of members divided into four main teams: 1) Facility Support and Knowledge Office, 2) RIAT (Reintegration Assistance Tool) Team, 3) Operational Support to Returns Team, and 4) Referral and Local Ownership Team.

To support the EU Member States in their implementation of enhancement and capacities within their return systems, the RRF has established the Operational Support on Returns Team. The team focuses on development and anchoring of return systems operational support, counselling action and implementation of counselling activities as well as providing direct services related to Member States’ return activities.

To strenghten the capacities of the Operational Support on Returns Team under, ICMPD Brussels (through the RRF) is looking for two Junior Project Officers. They will be responsible to follow the administrative daily tasks of the RRF-funded projects of the RRF thematic work areas of return counselling and outreach and direct services, under the supervision of the Project Manager heading the Operational Support on Returns team.

The Junior Project Officers will liaise with the stakeholders for the planning and execution of activities, will identify the risks and challenges that might arise throughout the project and inform the Project Officer and the Senior Project Manager about them along with suggestions for mitigating measures, including the ones related with the budget execution. They will liaise with the relevant departments of the ICMPD to assist with the contracting and procurement processes.

The RRF Operations Support on Returns Team is composed of a Project Manager, a Training Specialist, and a pool of Project Officers, and two Junior Project Officers (to be recruited). The position is based Brussels and will require international travelling.

The Junior Project Officers will report to the Project Manager leading the Operational Support on Returns Team.
