The global ICT Service Monitoring provides reliable solutions for UNGSC’s enterprise monitoring systems on premises and in the cloud and enables the continuous monitoring of services provided to all SGITT clients including other UN entities. The Global ICT Service Monitoring service provides IT infrastructure and Service monitoring to enable the Network Control Centre to rapidly identify and take action to restore any failure or performance issue. The monitoring service is also offered to any entity that wants to leverage on the 24×7 NCC service.
Responsibilities
- Support the management and maintenance of the Enterprise-Monitoring Systems on premises and in the cloud.
- Deploy and support the tools in use to monitor network devices, systems and applications.
- Coordinate with systems and network engineers, application technical support analysts and developers to determine requirements for filters, events, alerts, and dashboards and reporting in various monitoring tools.
- Perform administrative support tasks in monitoring tools such as Network Node Manager, System Center Operations Manager, etc.
- Create, and maintain monitoring and notification rules.
- Support the administration of the monitoring infrastructure, ensuring that it is stable, up to date, well designed, properly tuned and properly maintained.
- Support monitoring tools and its components including Network Node Manager, System Center Operations Manager, Azure and AWS monitoring, as necessary.
- Create custom reports on results of the monitoring tools.
- Provide problem resolution for SCOM and NNM components.
- Work with project managers and peers to understand and solve challenging technical
- problems, produce effort estimates, and improve system functionality, reliability and
- reduce costs.
- Contribute to projects involving Artificial Intelligence technologies and solutions.
- Maintain customer satisfaction through effectively communicating and managing
- customer expectations.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of relevant experience are required or, A first level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) preferably in computer science, information systems, software engineering or related field and two (2) years of relevant experience.
Experience
- Relevant experience is defined as experience in IT areas.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in installation and administration of application/network/system performance and availability monitoring tools.
Language
Fluency in English (write, read, speak) is required; knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
