Internship Title: ICT Intern
Section/Team: Operations
Duty Station: Algeirs/Algeria
Modality: Full-time
Duration: 06 months
UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. And we never give up.
For every child, a FUTURE
At the national level, UNICEF supports the Government of Algeria through development-oriented programmes aimed at strengthening systems, policies and services for children, particularly in the areas of health, education, child protection, social policy and adolescent development.
In parallel, UNICEF leads and supports a protracted humanitarian response in Tindouf, delivering life saving assistance and resilience-building interventions for Sahrawi refugee children and families, in close coordination with UN agencies, national partners and humanitarian actors.
The humanitarian context in Tindouf presents specific operational challenges, including remote field locations, complex logistics, constrained infrastructure, and the need for strong compliance with humanitarian principles, risk management, and accountability to affected populations.
Within this context, the Operations function plays a critical role in enabling UNICEF to deliver results for children effectively, efficiently and accountably, ensuring that operational systems are robust, adaptable and fit for purpose across both development and humanitarian settings.
