How can you make a difference? 

Under the supervision of the IT Officer, and based on the established policies, guidelines and service level agreements, the intern will assist to provide IT support to the office. The intern will also research and explore tools and solutions which could be adopted to improve operations and programme effectiveness and efficiency for the office.

Responsibilities

  1. System maintenance and support:
  • Assist in the daily operation and monitoring of IT equipment and systems, including hardware devices, operating systems, and application software;
  • Participate in handling basic system failure reports, conduct preliminary diagnosis and record problems, assist in solving or promptly transfer to the IT Associate or IT Officer;
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, and daily maintenance of office computers and related hardware and software.
  • Technical document organization and update:
    • Assist in organizing and updating various IT technical documents, including user manuals, operation guides, and troubleshooting procedures;
    • Classify, archive, and optimize retrieval of existing technical documents to ensure effective management of information resources.
  • Project assistance and implementation:
    • Cooperate with the team to participate in the planning, execution, and tracking of IT projects, such as application deployment, network construction, etc.;
    • Perform data entry, backup, recovery, and simple data analysis work under guidance.
  • Training and service:
    • Assist in organizing IT skills training for internal employees and answer daily software and hardware questions;
    • Provide basic desktop technical support to help employees solve problems encountered in the process of using computers and related equipment.
  • Learning and development:
    • In-depth study of the information technology and tools adopted by UNICEF to continuously improve their technical level;
    • According to actual needs, have the opportunity to access and study cutting-edge IT technologies and solutions.

     

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

    • Be enrolled in a degree programme in an undergraduate (above 18 years old) or postgraduate study, majored in information technology, computer science or a related field
    • Have strong academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records, or, if not available, a reference letter from an academic supervisor.
    • Have no immediate relatives working in any UNICEF offices;
    • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
