Join UNICEF Global Shared Service Center (GSSC)`s Business Innovation and Support section and play a vital role in ServiceNow development related activities, as well as contribute to various exciting GSSC projects. The ICT Officer will report to the ICT Specialist based in Budapest, Hungary. The main responsibility will be to provide crucial support to ITSM and HRSD modules, ensuring the effective execution of these key components. 

Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:

  • Create new and maintain existing services in modules installed in UNICEF instance.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards/workspaces.
  • Advise UNICEF on ServiceNow functionality that can improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, optimization business processes, best practices etc. Train and advise internal developers on functionality, enhancements, tips and tricks, scripting/code practices.
  • Support and troubleshoot the issues in interfaces, applications, and reports in ServiceNow system. 
  • Prepare technical specifications for solutions. 
  • Document all completed solutions per standards established. 
  • Participate in the road map activities in the assessment of emerging technologies and contribute ideas and develop solutions to improve utilization of SAP and other systems currently being used such as ServiceNow, Power Apps, AAD, etc.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • First level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in business administration, computer science, information systems management or related field is required. Master’s degree in a relevant field is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of two (2) years hands-on experience in programming including maintenance of ServiceNow platform is required.
  • In-depth understanding of the ServiceNow platform, including its architecture, modules, and capabilities is required.
  • Strong scripting skills, particularly in JavaScript and GlideScript is required.
  • Experience in integrating ServiceNow with other third-party systems and applications is required. Knowledge of REST and SOAP web services is required.
  • Ability to optimize and fine-tune ServiceNow applications for better performance and efficiency is desirable.
  • Experience in understanding the identified gaps and provide solution(s), translate it to technical efforts and estimate the work for the same is desirable.
  • Experience in writing technical specifications is desirable.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and ensuring quality of development is desirable.
  • Experience in testing procedures and protocol is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment, excellent management and interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
