In support of a new transformative business model “Originate to Share” our shareholders recently approved a $3.5 billion capitalization. This will allow IDB Invest to significantly scale up its investments, nearly doubling annual financing from approximately $8 billion to $19 billion, and unlocking greater private sector participation to drive development and climate impact across the region.
We are looking for a dynamic professional to support the Portfolio Management Division in monitoring, from signature to repayment, a portfolio of loans, bonds and guarantees to private sector and non-sovereign guaranteed with infrastructure and energy clients. The monitoring of transactions will require periodic and ad hoc analysis of the financial performance of counterparties and review of loan documentation to ensure compliance with the contractual obligations assumed by clients. The Portfolio Management Senior Associate is the primary point of contact for the transactions assigned to them and is responsible for identifying contractual breaches and operational risks, proposing solutions to resolve such breaches, managing identified risks, to ensure the stability and soundness of BID Invest’s loan and guarantee portfolio.
The position’s main responsibilities involve:
• Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Development Studies, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of progressive experience in supervision, structuring, credit assessment and/or rating of project finance counterparts, gained within a development financial institution, commercial or investment bank, financial advisory firms and/or rating agencies. Candidates should possess a clear understanding of the operational work of IDB Invest or similar multilateral institution. Sector knowledge in the industries in which IDB Invest operates as well as experience in an international environment, preferably in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required.
• Citizenship: Must be eligible to work in the job location without the need of sponsorship from IDB Invest.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
National staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
