IFC’s FIG Department is seeking three interns as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Support Investment, Upstream and Advisory Programs:

• Work closely with the team to identify and assess business opportunities in Insurance, DARP or Housing Finance.
• Conduct industry, market and company research.
• Perform integrity due diligence on potential clients.
• Perform financial analysis, modelling on project investments, as needed.
• Prepare project-related documents and PowerPoint presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Support to Credit and Risk evaluation of Insurance, DARP or Housing Finance Partners.
• Coordinate with the global and/or regional teams to obtain necessary information.
• Support mapping identification of target companies in key target markets.

Selection Criteria

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
• Preferred field of study: Masters in Economics, Business Administration (MBA), Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience (including internships) in a financial institution.
• Have a basic understanding of investment transactions, including how to conduct market analysis and determine financial soundness of company or project opportunity.
• Be able to utilize graphics and tables to effectively and creatively present data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages are a plus.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong financial, analytical, and modeling skills.
• Self-motivated and driven individual with strong willingness to learn and ability to multi-task.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• Committed to highest ethical standard, ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries and keen interest in development finance and multicultural environments.
