IFC Global Internship Program – Program updates strategy and AI internship

IFC’s Regional FIG Department is seeking two interns as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.

Duties and Accountabilities:

• Leverage AI to Enhance Investment Processes: Introduce and implement AI technologies to streamline various stages of the investment cycle, including integrity due diligence research, note-taking during appraisals, scanning documents for sensitive language, creating presentation templates, and visualizing data.
• Develop a Prompt Library: Create a comprehensive library of prompts to extract data from World Bank Group reports (e.g., Country Partnership Framework, Private Sector Diagnostic) and facilitate the drafting of presentations and report sections.
• Staff Training on AI Tools: Conduct training sessions for Financial Institutions Group staff on the effective utilization of available AI tools, such as CoPilot, ChatIFC, and MAI.
• Automate Data Cleaning: Develop an AI tool to automate the cleaning of Excel-based financial statements imported from internal systems, enhancing the efficiency of financial analysis.
• Project Management Tool Development: Design and implement a project management tool to coordinate cross-functional activities, including task assignment and progress tracking throughout the deal cycle.
• Develop an AI Governance Guide: Create a guide on AI governance, with a focus on the limitations of AI in managing client confidentiality and handling sensitive information. 
• Collaborate with ChatIFC Team: Liaise with the ChatIFC team as needed to provide feedback and recommendations for improving AI outputs.

Selection Criteria

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
• Preferred field of study: Masters in Business Administration (MBA); AI
• Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience
• Knowledge of AI and process-efficient mapping required
• Knowledge of CoPilot preferred.
