IFC Global Internship Program – Software Developer Internship

IFC’s Information Technology Department is seeking two interns as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.

Duties and Accountabilities:

• Support the development team in coding, testing, and debugging software applications.
• Gain hands-on experience with programming languages, tools, and frameworks used by the team.
• Work closely with senior developers, designers, and other team members to understand project requirements and contribute to solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and improve code quality.
• Assist in writing and executing test cases to ensure software functionality and reliability.
• Conduct research on new technologies and methodologies to improve development processes.

Selection Criteria

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program.
• Preferred field of study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or JavaScript and familiarity with development tools and frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to approach and solve technical problems logically and efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and improving existing skills.
