IFC’s South Asia department is seeking an intern as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Duties and Accountabilities:
- Support the implementation of the India & Africa Cooperation Strategy to promote investment and advisory opportunities for IFC in both geographies.
- Serve as a focal point to the India & Africa Cooperation Group (IACG) to provide real-time updates on the current pipeline and ensure alignment with local priorities and IFC’s global strategies.
- Serve as an anchor to develop a collaborative knowledge sharing platform on opportunities- share sector opportunities, as well as insights on regulatory challenges, investment incentives etc.
- Map IFC unique offerings and financial instruments (both investment and advisory) and develop a comprehensive list of the suite of offerings to share with potential clients.
- Develop briefing pitch decks to share with different audiences, including for new/existing clients, chambers of commerce, and Ministries of External Affairs.
- Serve as an anchor to tailor sectoral pitch notes, including cross cutting themes (e.g., climate, gender etc.)
- Liaise with respective industry focal points and stakeholders to support internal and external due diligence for IFC’s mobilization efforts under the India & Africa Cooperation Strategy.
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
- Preferred field of study: Preferred field of study: Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- 3 years of previous work experience
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work in India (citizenship or OCI card).
