The ILP Organization (منظمة الحب و السلام العراقية)seeks to find environmental experts to legislate policies that concern the environment and cleanliness in Anbar province. As shown below:
- Background:
A non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2012 formally in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to practice its humanitarian activities formally, but the actual work of the organization appeared (unofficial) in 2004 in the Anbar governorate to support the needy and the poor as well as schoolchildren, until it works extended to many areas of Anbar, some of Baghdad, and some activities in Mosul and Erbil.
The organization worked in Livelihood, food security, WASH, restoration and rehabilitation, training courses, awareness and shelter.
ILP carries out the project “Improving the environmental situation through practical and educational practices in Anbar” One of the aims of the project is to support a clean environment through cooperation between the local government. And the people of the region, as the project seeks to strengthen the role of the government by promoting governance reinforced by laws.
To realize these tasks, ILP wants to hire a consultant to conduct a study on the waste separation mechanism and model solutions will be found to benefit from recycling these wastes, whether they are organic or non-degradable materials. This document will be reviewed through a desk review session, between the members of the organization, the consultant, and the municipality managers, to reach a final model.
- Objective:
- To create a detailed policy document on waste separation mechanisms, incorporating data and information gathered from workshops, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
- study and recommend model solutions for recycling waste, focusing on optimizing the separation process for both organic and non-degradable materials.
- To assess the impact of the waste separation mechanism in the selected neighbourhoods over a two-month period.
- To establish a unified work document and plan for waste removal, ensuring a coordinated approach between municipal departments and the targeted neighborhoods.
- Activities and Tasks:
- Review of existing literature, policies, and regulations on solid waste management and waste separation.
- Conduct stakeholder consultations with relevant authorities, waste management organizations, NGOs, and community groups.
- Analyze current practices, challenges, and opportunities in the context of local, regional, and national solid waste management.
- Develop a draft policy paper, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
- Finalize the policy paper, including a detailed implementation plan.
- Trainer requirements:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured policy papers, reports, and other documents.
- Experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, NGOs, and the private sectorز
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability principles, particularly in relation to waste management, recycling, and circular economy practicesز
- Strong understanding of solid waste management systems, waste separation technologies, and best practices in both urban and rural contexts.
- Qualification:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Waste Management, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or a related field.Proven experience in developing policy papers, particularly in the area of waste management.
- Strong understanding of solid waste management practices, regulations, and environmental sustainability.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and conducting consultations.
- Confidentiality:
All outputs (e.g., reports, documents, information, raw data, analysis, etc.) produced s will be treated as ILP’s property, with confidentiality and will be submitted to ILP and cannot be shared at any time with any external entities.
