This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite in La Jolla and remote.

Under supervision, the incumbent will serve as the Women’s Imaging Lab Image Coordinator and will independently provide all aspects of data recording and entry, data summary, and collection of image regions of interest. The incumbent will be responsible for data transfer, database entry and maintenance, and MRI Diffusion data analysis to include varied techniques of image capture, analysis, and documentation. Duties include subject recruitment, image data acquisition, analysis, and grant and manuscript preparation. The incumbent will develop and implement standard operating procedures and apply drawing, editing, and creative skills to create figures that illustrate results for publications and proposals. Utilizing theoretical knowledge and first-hand experience with the lab’s research, the incumbent will be expected to support research activities that contribute to scientific manuscripts and grant applications.

  • Theoretical knowledge of MR physics, human anatomy, and cancer biology.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Physics.

  • Demonstrated experience in a research lab or clinical environment.

  • Strong written communication skills. Ability to compose letters, proposals, reports, presentations, and other comprehensive materials using correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, editing, formatting, and proofreading skills to clearly and concisely provide accurate information.

  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and apply protocols in conducting research. Demonstrated ability in following stepwise experimental protocols.

  • Working knowledge of Diffusion Weighted Imaging and diverse MR acquisition techniques.

  • Demonstrated experience with the operation of a personal computer and software, such as MS Word and Excel. Knowledge to work with and learn new software for analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient/study subject data.

  • Demonstrated ability to carry out and track multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Proven ability to conduct basic data analysis using computerized statistical software.

  • Demonstrated skill in accurate record keeping and ability to organize, analyze, and calculate data. Knowledge of basic math.

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) needed to interact professionally and effectively in work environment, as well as effectively and accurately document research procedures. Ability to read, comprehend and discuss research materials.

  • Demonstrated ability to collect and record MRI data, and use the university PACS.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check.

  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary to complete research projects and meet grant deadlines.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $58,548 – $94,190 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.04 – $45.11

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
