The Staff Immigration Team is responsible for international staff recruitment by providing visa and immigration support to new and existing staff.

The Immigration Advisor liaises with the Home Office, visa applicants and departments to provide advice and assistance for new and existing staff to obtain the required visa.

About the Role

Key responsibilities of the Immigration Advisor include:

•             issuing certificates of sponsorship for Skilled Worker and Tier 5 visas under the Home Office points based system;

•             providing support to visa holders with visa applications for Skilled Worker, Temporary Worker (GAE), Global Talent and ILR; 

•             providing advice and support to departments and colleges on all aspects immigration and compliance including sponsoring visa holders, reporting to the Home Office, compliance audits, right to work and invitations for Academic and Business visitors.

The post requires knowledge of the Home Office points based system, preferably for Skilled Worker and Tier 5 sponsorship; experience of interpreting complex policy; good analytical skills and judgement; excellent attention to detail; strong written and oral communications skills and customer service. A visa caseworker and/or experience of the Home Office SMS system are desirable but not essential. Full training will be provide but the role does require some immigration experience.
