Job description

The Alliance Bioversity International & CIAT is part of the Global Research Partnership for a Food Secure Future (CGIAR), which is dedicated to transforming food, land and water systems in a climate crisis.

The Alliance provides research-based solutions to the global crises of malnutrition, climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation. The position will contribute to the development of strategic and systematic impact finance approaches to channel capital into water, land and food systems and transform them sustainably. The expert will strengthen CGIAR’s ability to improve informed decision-making and risk management across different financial actors and build partnerships with other CGIAR entities and organisations.

Your Tasks

• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with banks and financial institutions to co-develop impactful tailored financing for climate-smart agriculture.
• Developing and implementing a market and product strategy for gender-responsible scaling of CGIAR’s data-driven solutions (in particular the ImpactSF Analyzer)
• Engaging with regulatory bodies, donor organizations, and industry experts to create broader awareness and acceptance of the product
• Further developing innovation and scaling approaches in cooperation with GIZ team members and other partners

Your profile

• Master’s or PhD degree in finance, business, economics or a related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in fintech, business development, or product management, with a focus on financial services, impact investing, or sustainable finance.
• Proven track record in collaborating with financial institutions to develop and implement innovative products that integrate climate and environmental risks into credit scoring
• Ability to operate in complex, multicultural environments, with experience working in regions such as sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, or Latin America.
• Networks and professional working relationships with CGIAR and GIZ are considered a plus
• Working knowledge of English
