The Borlaug Institute for South Asia (BISA) is a non-profit international research institute dedicated to food, nutrition, and livelihood security as well as environmental rehabilitation in South Asia, which is home to more than 300 million undernourished people. We are seeking dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-oriented professionals for the position of Project Coordinator.

 

The position will be based in Jabalpur.

The main responsibilities of this position will be:

  • Conducting base line and end line survey of the project.
  • Coordinate and support Project partners to execute project activities in all 9 districts of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Coordinate and collect the information’s related physical and financial progress of the project and provide the required reports to the donor.
  • Develop project guidelines, advisories, and project reports.
  • Regular monitoring of the project activities, organizing meetings (skype/personal) and regular reporting of overall project progress to the project steering committee chairman and supervisor.
  • Develop good liaising with the state government, universities, and NGO etc. 
  • Perform support activities that are required in BISA, according to the instructions of the PI.
  • BSc in Agriculture with MSc.  in Agronomy/Ag Economics/ or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • At least 5 years demonstrated practical experience in field-based cropping systems research and extension and in project coordination/ implementation. 
  • Good leadership quality, ability to develop partnership network and convince researchers, policy makers to show impact visibility of BISA research.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills with good liaising in national system and local government
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

The position is for an initial fixed-term contract of 1 year with annual renewal subject to performance. Thereafter, the contract would be renewed based on overall performance and the continued availability of funds.
