Description of Work Unit | Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000 foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities. The Center for Community Partnerships (CCP) supports transition-age youth and adults with disabilities and/or learning differences pursue their education, employment, independent living, and community participation goals. The CCP is funded through grants, fee-for-service, and gifted contributions. It is housed in the Department of Occupational Therapy within the College of Health and Human Sciences at CSU. CSU is a Land Grant university, a Carnegie Research university, and has been designated a Carnegie Community Engagement university. |
Position Summary | The part-time inclusive education coordinator will work with families, adults with IDD, matriculated CSU students, and CSU faculty and staff to schedule activities and plan for a successful time as a college-student at CSU. The coordinator will support learning for peers and scholars by being regularly available and present with program activities, having responsive communication to requests and questions, and navigating program success with peer and family communications. The coordinator will work closely with the co-directors of the RAM Scholars program to design and distribute recruitment materials, support University administrative tasks, and develop program activity plans. The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the different stakeholders in the inclusive higher education program have their communication needs met, class schedules in order, and required signatures for enrollment. This is a 12-month position to support inclusive higher education. |
