Individual Consultant on Climate Financing for Refugees

Following the launch of the Climate Action Strategic plan, the focus of the Climate Financing team with other teams (MFT) is tasked with operationalizing the plan including mobilizing significant new resources from government, private sector and other sources.  

Through consultations and working sessions with the team, the consultant will work with the Senior Advisor, Climate Financing, to develop a work plan and provide recommendations for optimizing the team structure/roles/development to realize its ambitious goals.  Furthermore, s/he will advise on the Multi-Functional Team to ensure it enables efficient information sharing and support. 

This work will be brought together in the context of team meeting that the consultant will facilitate as well as a workplan document that can be shared with key internal stakeholders/leadership as required.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT:

• Support Senior Advisor, Climate Financing,  in the development of a workplan to mobilize climate financing resources.
• Engage key stakeholders in DER to ensure strategic alignment and support
• Provide individual support and coaching to team members to identify under-utilized strengths/skillsets and identify further development requirements.
• Provide recommendations to Sr. Advisor and include in workplan as required.
• Facilitate workshop to define team structure, roles and responsibilities, stakeholder mapping, define focal points/team matrix.
• Facilitate conversations on Climate Fundraising MFT (cross team/divisional) in order to advise on its composition/work going forward. 
• Produce short, useful documentation on workplan and other guidance as required from the consultations and team workshop.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

• Demonstrates prior experience in leading strategy development and planning alignment.
• Knowledge of UNHCR stakeholders mapping and analysis.
• English language is a must.
