About the National Theatre of Great
Britain
The National Theatre of Great Britain (NT) is dedicated to making
theatre for everyone, by sharing unforgettable stories with
audiences around the world, commissioning freelance theatre-makers
to create inspiring and challenging work, igniting the creativity
of young people with learning programs, and building sustainable
partnerships with theatres across the UK and the world. In marking
its 60th Anniversary last year, the NT reached a record-breaking
17.5 million people around the globe. These audiences were welcomed
to 31 productions on the NT’s three stages on the South Bank, ten
of which were world premieres, to touring
productions in the West End and around the world, to global NT Live
screenings in cinemas, and to over 45,000 NT at Home subscribers.
Most of all, with its expanded digital reach and innovation, the NT
has inspired millions of children and young people with diverse
learning programs. National Theatre Collection, with its archive of
over 60 productions, makes recordings of shows available to the
global education sector, and currently offers free access for over
200 New York City public schools.
World-leading artists make their best work at the NT with the
widest possible audience and impact. The NT is committed to
investing in talent and innovation on stage and off . Of the new
productions developed each year within the NT Studio, a third of
that R&D resource is dedicated to shows staged at theatres
outside London and beyond. A registered charity with deeply
embedded social purpose, the NT’s key objectives in looking to the
next five years are towards economic, environmental, and social
sustainability, upholding a culture that aims to take care of their
people and the wider world.
About the American Associates of the National
Theatre

War Horse, One Man, Two Guvnors with James Corden, The Curious
Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Angels in America with
Andrew Garfield and Nathan Lane, Network with Bryan Cranston,
Hadestown and The Lehman Trilogy, combined with the opportunity to
share the National Theatre’s productions with US audiences
year-round through NT Live, has enabled the AANT to capitalize on
the high profile and reach of the National Theatre in the US and
