The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and independent international humanitarian organization, which assists and protects victims of armed conflicts and other situations of violence. The ICRC is currently looking for staff for its support operations in Iraq.

Job Title: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Specialist 2

Level: B2

Duty Station: Iraq – Nasiriyah Sub-Delegation

Reports to: Directly to the Head of Sub-Delegation and Functionally to the ICT Coordinator/Manager.

Duration of Contract: 1-year fixed-term contract (with the possibility of renewal based on delegation needs and performance).

Objective:

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Specialist 2 manages and organizes all ICT systems and services at his/her area of responsibility (AoR). He/she collaborates with the ICT Coordinator/Manager in the design, installation, and management of the ICT infrastructure and ICT Services.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assures ICT Management of Operational Support in his area of responsibilities in relations with the ICT Coordinator.
  • Run and organize the ICT support-related activities in the defined Area of Responsibilities (AoR), under ICT Coordinator supervision.
  • Ensure that installations and maintenance are carried out according to ICRC procedures and guidelines.
  • Organise and follow up on first level support to users and other workplace services.
  • Under the technical supervision of the ICT Coordinator, participates in the installation of new and maintenance of ICT infrastructures in the sub-delegation and its sub-sites.
  • Follow-up of ICT projects in the defined area of responsibilities, in coordination with the ICT Coordinator and other services.
  • Organize and supervise the information technology, radio communication, telecommunication, and satellite equipment support service teamwork to provide with a high level of service.
  • Participates in planning and budget implementation with ICT coordinator.
  • Reports regularly or upon request to his superiors on the department’s activities, pending, state of projects, problems, etc. for the sites under his responsibility.
  • Ensures the ICT-related information flow inside the department, to/from his superiors, to/from other departments, offices, and Sub-Delegations in his area of responsibilities.
  • In collaboration with the ICT Manager/Coordinator in Baghdad, support all activities related to the timely applications for new/renewal licenses and frequencies for his area of responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the inventory is accurate, exhaustive, and reliable, and the ICT stocks (spare parts, ICT consumable and equipment) are adequately managed including disposal plans for obsolete materials and inform the coordinator in case of lost, stolen, broken equipment for the sites in his area of responsibilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar field.
  • Three to four years of troubleshooting experience in an area of the ICT Infrastructure and Services catalogue
  • Competencies in the fields of IT Service Management (ITSM), Project Management, and cybersecurity
  • Sound computer and ICT proficiencies.
  • Fluent command of written and spoken English and Arabic required
