About the Department

The Directorate of Governance and Legal Services (DGLS) is seeking an Information Governance Assistant to support the Information Governance team in ensuring compliance with information-related regulation and legislation, in particular with the U.K. GDPR and Freedom of Information Act. DGLS has responsibility for the governance and management of a range of partnership activity, compliance and legal services. The team works closely with the three faculties and Professional Services departments to provide timely advice and support on core business and initiatives which underpin the strategic aims of the University.

About the role

The Information Governance Assistant reports to the Records & Information Compliance Manager and will oversee handling of requests to the University under and in accordance with the requirements of the U.K. GDPR, Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts, assist with compiling statistical and other reports for internal and external use, monitor and keep up-to-date the University’s Publication Scheme, and assist with monitoring and reporting on issues and changes in the information legislation and regulation landscape.
