Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Serving as overall focal point and manager for the Information Management department • Overall responsibility for the functioning of the MAG’s operational database(s) and broader Information Management System (IMS): ensuring that data contained within the system is complete, accurate and up to date; technical development and maintenance • Identify, design and implement data collection and management procedures to meet the information needs of MAG programme. Determine the most efficient manner to capture, record and store information • Supervise work of IM Coordinators, S IMO(s), IMO(s) and conduct regular quality control on all stages of the IM cycle • Establish and maintain policies and procedures to ensure data validity and reliability • Provide analysis and reporting to identify information gaps, monitor trends and highlight concerns, as required by programme • Conduct data analysis (spatial and aspatial) whenever it’s beyond capacity of IMU staff • Review and validate all IM products created by IM department • Identify Common Operational Datasets (CODs) for geographical and population data to be used throughout the Programme • Advise and assist MAG Iraq staff in the development of data collection forms, and other information collection instruments in support of operational planning, monitoring, and evaluation • Ensure that copy of all reports submitted to government and donors is stored, kept up to date and in logical order, and are secure at all times. • Keep up to date with the IMSMA developments; ensure MAG is feeding the appropriate data into it • Ensure that staff with key operational data are completing regular backups of digital data • Support roll out, and subsequently maintain, support, upgrade and manage the new MAG IMS in coordination with the Regional Information System Manger
• Manage all hardware and software associated with the new MAG IMS Training and development. • Provide timely and accurate information, analysis and reports on current grants as required for the preparation of donor reporting • Ensure sufficient capacity of the IMU: assist in developing internal capacity where required, identifying training needs and providing mentoring support where appropriate • Provide input into regular in-country programme and management meetings. • Work closely with the Senior managers (SMiC, TOM and PM) to ensure consistency and compliance between programme needs and data collected and stored with MAG Iraq IM system • Ensure compliance with MAG country and global policies and practices related to Information Management and IM team’s familiarity with it • Ensure sharing and documenting an institutional knowledge and good practices within IMU team and with other MAG IM staff • Exercise creativity in analyzing incoming data to better respond to or highlight emerging needs for MAG, donor and mine action authority in country. • Create training and capacity building plans to support staff in works related to data collection and data management; data analysis and visualization; surveys and assessments; GIS analysis and mapping; reporting and translating.
Safeguarding: • Work in compliance with MAG’s Safeguarding framework – Policy on Personal Conduct, Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy, Dignity at Work Policy, Reporting Malpractice (Whistleblowing) Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy and Policy on Modern Slavery • Report any Safeguarding concerns in accordance with MAG’s reporting options and guidelines.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Selection criteria: The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
• An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work
• Master’s degree in Information Management, Software, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or University degree in the above fields.
• At least 3 years Information Management experience in mine action.
• Strong knowledge of Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), especially SQL and spatial SQL, e.g. PostGIS
• Advanced knowledge in MS Office especially Excel formulas, ideally VBscript
• Excellent planning, coordination, monitoring and organizational skills
• Strong relationship management and communications skills and ability to work collaboratively and manage teams.

• Proactive, resourceful, solutions oriented and results-oriented
• Excellent written and spoken English, Kurdish and Arabic
