About the Position: 

The Division of Information Technology (IT) strives to be a strategic, innovative and best‐in‐class IT organization that provides a leading‐edge technology environment for students, faculty and staff to advance the University’s mission, vision and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our IT-Information Learning Common as the Information Technology Consultant – Foundation (Information Technology Consultant). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness. 

Working under direct supervision, the Information Technology Consultant provides consultative technical computing and instructional support to the campus community via the phone, chat, email, and in person on different operating system platforms, including but not limited to, Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

Provides support for IT-supported software and other cloud-based applications and services. Ensures the computer labs are set up properly. Test and evaluate new technologies and applications and providing reports to appropriate supervisor. Enforces lab policies and guidelines. Provides user assistance to computer lab areas. Makes and deploys images for both Mac and PC Operating Systems. Assists with leading and mentoring student assistants. Creates reports for supervisors and updates the website. Develops timely and practical solutions to a variety of user problems.

Provides assistance on the use of technical equipment in the Maker Space and Interdisciplinary Computing Labs. Configures the laptops and other technology devices for the Center for Equitable Digital Access (CEDA) and prepares them for deployment. Assists with services provided by the Student Genius Center (SGC) and Advanced Technology Lab (ATL). Assists with device deployment for Device Request. Makes and deploys images for both Mac and PC for both Student Genius Center and Advanced Technology Lab computer labs and laptops, and Device Request labs. Responds to field and phone calls and create support tickets to follow up. Other duties as assigned.
