Job Summary:

As a member of the Information Technology team, this position will provide a high level of technology support to all RU programs in Roanoke for faculty, students and staff. This position will work to configure and maintain all technology equipment used by these programs including classrooms, computer labs, printers, video conferencing systems and personal computers. This position will assist with the maintenance and support of all RU voice, video and lecture capture technologies in Roanoke and on the RU main campus. This position will also provide remote telephone support to faculty, students and staff for general technology questions at both Radford campuses. When unable to resolve an issue, this position will coordinate the resolution of the problem with the appropriate office on the main RU campus, providing recommendations for resolutions best suited to the Roanoke environment. On occasion, this position may be needed on the RU main campus.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software including: Windows, MS Office, web browsers, and networked computing environments. Knowledge of mobile platforms including smartphones and tablets. Ability to analyze symptoms in order to resolve complex technical problems. Ability to communicate and consult effectively with faculty, students and staff on a wide range of technology issues. Proven ability to use a wide variety of diagnostic tools to identify, analyze, and resolve hardware, software and network connectivity problems. Must be able to coordinate and handle multiple tasks and make decisions to resolve problems. Must be able to collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure successful technology implementations in our Roanoke facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Dell, Lenovo, and Apple computers with OS X a plus. Experience with web conferencing systems is a plus.
