About the roleBalfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live work and play.Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for an Inspections Logistic Manager as part of the Connect Plus Services (CPS) team based in South Mimms, Leatherhead or DartfordOur Structures Asset comprises over 2600 individual highway structures ranging from small span structures to the QEII Bridge at the Dartford River Crossing.The role of Inspections Logistics Manager is a high-level manager who will oversee the operation and performance of the Structures Inspection Teams.As the Inspections Logistic Manager, you will be responsible for developing the planning and delivery of all access arrangements to allow inspections to go ahead.This will include the booking of traffic management on strategic highways and local roads, the booking and arrangement of access equipment (MEWPs Etc), as well as implementing strategies that align with the companys overall goals and objectives by reducing impact on our customers.What you’ll be doing

  • Managing and Planning: Oversee and coordinate programmes of work, including Principal, General, and Special Inspections, ensuring they meet specific timeframes and published requirements.
  • Collaborating: Work closely with Inspectors and third parties to secure road space, traffic management, and access arrangements.
  • Fostering Teamwork: Partner with internal sub-business units and third parties within the Area 5 DBFO to maximize road space sharing opportunities and promote collaborative efforts.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Analyse data effectively to make informed decisions that enhance inspection processes.
  • Budget Management: Record and forecast spending on traffic management and access equipment, ensuring alignment with project budgets.
  • Coordinating Efforts: Collaborate with Scheme and Service Delivery Teams to efficiently plan and deliver inspections and surveys.

Who we’re looking for

  • TSCO Qualified or the willing to gain the TSCO Qualification.
  • Proven relevant experience in traffic management and chapter 8.
  • Previous knowledge and understanding of access requirements for structural inspections.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety and hold a valid CSCS card (desirable).
  • Knowledge and experience of the National Highways NOMs database and Bridge Management Systems (desirable).
  • Experience of traffic management drawings and layouts.
