Installation Team:Landscape Construction Crew Member
Starting Salary: $20-23/hr dependent on skills and experience, plus benefits: paid time off, health insurance, regular bonuses, continuing education allowance, retirement matching and discounts on plant materials (note: not all benefits are active from start date).
You are the ideal candidate for this role if you are a highly organized generalist with experience in the landscape or building trades (stone, wood, metal, etc.). You also need to enjoy working both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines while maintaing the high quality Shooting Star Gardens is known for.
This role requires a person who is reliable and flexible. As we are often out in the field, you’ll need to practice excellent communication with your teammates to ensure your projects run smoothly.
The ideal candidate will take advantage of the opportunities available at a small company to explore new tasks and grow in their career. They will also be willing to pitch in and help wherever they are needed as Shooting Star Gardens is an “all hands on deck” company and we all flex as needed.
This is a physically demanding job in the PNW. We work year round, no matter the weather. Regularly being able to lift 75+ lbs and have excellent stamina is required.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Carpentry, Masonry, and Construction Experience:
Basic construction skills, knowledge of best practices for sustainable building; dry-stack retaining walls, pathways, gates, and small decks.
Flexibility:
We are a growing company in an industry where no two days are the same. Being able to adapt on the fly is crucial.
Time Management:
We work within the client’s budget which means you will be required to manage time efficiently.
WA Driver’s License and Excellent Driving:
You must be comfortable driving trucks and parking in busy urban areas, backing up with heavy loads, occasionally pulling trailers, loading tools securely, etc.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to repeatedly lift 50-75+ pounds, move heavy wheelbarrows, climb ladders, carry and secure tools in all possible weather conditions. We work outside no matter the weather.

Clear Communication:
Actively participate in creating a high-information work environment. Clear client notes, requests for materials, general project needs, and updates when things go wrong or help is needed makes everyone’s job easier and every project more successful.
