Under the leadership of Academician Yuliang Zhao, the Institute of Nanotechnology And Intelligence (inAI), Jinan University, China, is committed to the frontiers of advanced materials and biomedicine, building a cutting-edge artificial intelligence platform to drive breakthroughs in scientific research and engineering applications. The institute focuses on nanomaterials, nanodevices, nanochemistry, nanomedicine, and nanobiosafety.

To advance scientific innovation and discipline development, we are seeking exceptional young scholars worldwide with strong research achievements in relevant fields to join us in pushing the frontiers of intelligent nanotechnology and accelerating the translation from lab to industry.

I. Research Fields

We welcome applications in (but not limited to) the following areas:

• Materials Science, Chemistry, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Chemistry
• Nanomedicine, Nanotoxicology, Drug Delivery, AI-driven Drug Discovery
• Molecularly Targeted Drugs, Biopharmaceuticals (e.g., nucleic acid, cell-based, and protein-based drugs)
• Bioinformatics, Omics Analysis, Molecular Imaging, Diagnostic Technologies
• Translational Medicine, Immunology, Tumor Biology

Candidates from other disciplines with outstanding research outcomes in life sciences, medicine, or pharmacy are also encouraged to apply.

II. Eligibility

• Comply with the laws of the People’s Republic of China and possess professional scientific ethics
• Born on or after January 1, 1985
• Hold a Ph.D. degree
• Have held a formal teaching or research position in an overseas institution (university, research institute, or corporate R&D) for at least 36 consecutive months post-Ph.D. before September 15, 2025
  • Exceptionally qualified applicants with an overseas Ph.D. may be considered with relaxed experience requirements (not applicable to joint Ph.D. programs)
• Applicants with paid positions in China during their overseas employment period will not have that time counted toward overseas experience
• Demonstrate significant peer-recognized research or technological achievements with potential for leadership in the field
• Must not be working full-time in China at the time of application, or must have returned to China after January 1, 2024. Selected candidates must resign from any overseas position and commit to full-time work in China for no less than 3 years

III. Compensation and Support

Position and Salary

• Title: Distinguished Professor with tenure-track appointment and fast-track senior professional title

• Annual Salary: Up to RMB 1 million, with additional matching support.
• Settlement Subsidy: Up to RMB 3.5 million (pre-tax).
• Research Start-up Fund: Up to RMB 6–8 million.
• Further Funding Opportunities: Strong institutional support for applying to major Guangdong Province and Guangzhou talent programs (up to RMB 1.5–5 million for individual projects and up to RMB 15 million for team-based projects).

Research Support

• Well-equipped laboratories and ample office space.
• Institutional support to build a research team (2 team member positions allocated over 3 years).
• Guaranteed annual student quota: 1 Ph.D. and 3 Master’s students.

Living Support

• Fully furnished transitional apartments provided by the university.
• Assistance with spouse job placement, residence registration, Guangdong Talent Card application, and children’s relocation.

About Academician Yuliang Zhao

Professor Yuliang Zhao is the Founding Director of inAI and a globally recognized leader in nanoscience. He is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He has published 650+ SCI papers (cited ~90,000 times, H-index 159), holds over 130 patents, and has twice received the Second-Class National Natural Science Award (2012, 2018). His research has contributed to international standards adopted by ISO/IEC and over 160 countries.
