ECW Finance and Operations section is searching for a consultant who would assist its Grants Management (GM) Team in building the “Knowledge Hub (Hub),” which is a clearing house of information pertaining to the ECW grant-making process. The Hub is a repository of guidelines and processes of how grants are made, reports are managed, and data are registered. The consultant is expected to complete the Hub by collecting relevant data and information from ECW databases as well as ECW Secretariat staff members under the supervision of Programme Funding Manager (PFM). In collaboration with the Information Systems Manager (ISM), the consultant is also expected to work on a grants dashboard that acts as an easy reference to the ECW grant-making process. Additionally, the consultant will also assist PFM in resource mobilization, namely fundraising efforts from the Japanese Government, by collecting data and information from ECW grantees to develop funding proposals.
Scope of Work:
Knowledge Hub By collecting data and information related to ECW grant-making process:
- Developing the ECW Knowledge Hub in the UNICEF SharePoint in which various grant-making processes, tips, notes, and visuals are stored.
- Providing ideas about and conceptualizing more internal guidelines as necessary and adding them in the Knowledge Hub.
- Holding internal workshops and seminars to disseminate information collected and store in the Knowledge Hub.
Grant Dashboards By collaborating closely with Information Systems Manager:
- Improving and enhancing grant related dashboards that are linked to the grant-making process described in the Knowledge Hub, e.g. report tracking, request tracking, etc.
- Adding more programmatic data and information pertaining to grants in the databases and creating additional dashboard(s) to provide a comprehensive view of the programmatic aspects of ECW grants.
Resource Mobilization (RM) & Advocacy (Japan) By closely working with Programme Funding Manager:
- Support RM and advocacy efforts vis-à-vis Japan to raise awareness on Education in Emergencies and Protracted Crises (EiEPC) in collaboration with Japanese Civil Society Organizations (CSO).
- Collect data and information necessary to compile a funding proposal to the Government of Japan in collaboration with Education Team and grantees.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- A bachelor’s degree in Economic, Education, or Business Administration is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional work experience in the education sector, preferably in Education in Emergencies and Protracted Crises (EiEPC) context, pertaining to pedagogy, school administration, research and evaluation and/or other related fields.
- Advanced proficiency in: MS Office applications (particularly Excel, Teams, and SharePoint); Intermediate proficiency in such applications as CRAFT to disseminate information; and JotForm to collect information.
- Fluency in French required (DELF B2 or above; proof of certificate required); Intermediate level in Japanese a huge plus. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
