Work Flexibility: The Instruc/tMultimedia Developer (Videographer) will be required on campus (Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee) on a regular basis for video and photo shoots. The Instruct/Multimedia Developer (Videographer) can also choose to work remotely or from a collaborative office space in Tampa for a video and photo planning and editing as long as job duties are fulfilled and established goals and consistently met. 

 

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Division of Student Success at the University of South Florida is comprised of 60 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Videographer/Photographer serves as a full-time videographer and editor for the Office of Strategic Initiatives. Primary responsibilities will be to elevate the USF brand by creating visually interesting and compelling videos. The position will be required to shoot footage, edit, and accomplish all technical tasks related to production and post-production, including also the transport, set up, and operation of equipment, assist with staging, and set preparation. The Videographer will work closely with the Assistant Director of Marketing and general Marketing team to execute the concept through to completion for marketing uses across many platforms. The candidate must be abreast of industry trends and have the ability to create video messaging that helps tell the USF story and elevate the USF brand. Additionally, they must have the ability to elicit the best performance from subjects during filming.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Video and Photo Production: Plan, schedule and execute small- to high-level video/photo shoots on all three USF campuses, including the camera operation, sound and coordination of timing and talent.
Video and Photo Post-Production: Assemble video and audio in non-linear editing software (Premiere Pro) when needed and create visual effects, including green screen work (compositing) and any work that cannot be created practically. Assemble and edit photos using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom.
Creative Team Collaboration: Work with other members of the Marketing team to develop ideas that fit within the scope of the work needed. Ideate and create unique, innovative and original visual content, through video and photography, that effectively tells the USF story to prospective and current students, parents and outside community members.
Equipment and Asset Management: Manage archive of digital photos and assist designers in recommendations for use in a wide variety of print and electronic media. Manage equipment inventory and recommend new equipment purchases.
Production Management: Manages projects at various stages of development. Includes facilitating project intake meetings; gathering project requirements; documenting project plans; collaborating with the data analysis, production and stakeholders to produce projects; and ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Establish policies and procedures that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising quality. Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management. Provide motivation, support and guidance to employees.
Assists in creating process documentation. Helps to develop team resources such as business processes, production workflows, program fact sheets and calendars.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in education, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or, 6 years of experience in learning design, digital media or a related field. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Marketing, Journalism, Media Production, Photography or similar.
PREFERRED:
Proficient shooting and lighting techniques. Strong sense of lighting and shot composition. Operate necessary camera and lighting equipment alone or with minimal help. Advanced video editor. Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premier. Proficiency with Adobe After Effects, PhotoShop and other Creative Suite products. Knowledge of compression standards across multiple platforms. Knowledge of broadcast video, Online video, and social video. Proficient with motion graphics.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Demonstrated experience in the creation and direction of original, innovative and artistic cinematography/videography.  Demonstrated experience in still photography to include candid, landscape, studio, fashion, action, portrait, etc. Demonstrated ability to work independently and use discretion and judgment to move a project forward.  Experience in managing video and photo shoots. Demonstrated proficiency in video editing, visual effects, compositing and motion graphics.
